Kanji

1. Objectives

  Kanji is often the roadblock in learning Japanese. Kanji classes are for those learners who are not sure how to go about overcoming this roadblock by themselves.

2. Requirements, Semesters

  Learners may enroll in Kanji 1,000 or Kanji 2,000 course irrespective of their placement in Standard/Intensive Japanese courses. For Semester schedules, refer to the Standard/Intensive Japanese courses outlines.

3. Course

 We offer Intermediate Kanji Class. Autonomous learning is encouraged through the use of web-based materials that go along with the classroom sessions.

Kj1000 (kj1000)   (schedule)

  • For learners who know 300 kanji. Learns 1,000 kanji in the Level Two certificate (Nihongo Noryoku Shiken). 
  • 1 Section. Meet for one 90-minute session per week.


Kj2000 (kj2000)   (schedule)

  • Aimed at students who have studied up to a level of around 1,000 kanji characters, this course teaches students approximately 2,000 kanji characters and associated vocabulary to the level of N2-N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
  • 1 Section. Meet for one 90-minute session per week.
